The mechanically produced 3D illuminated globes from the Räthgloben 1917 Verlag are one of a kind. In addition to the illuminated double image, these also provide a fascinating 3D surface, whose tactile structure illustrates the height topography of the earth. The mountains are, however, strongly exaggerated, as even Mount Everest would only be as large as a grain of sand on the globe at the proper scale and thus barely able to be felt.
